Position Overview: 

Are you ready to lead and make an impact? We are seeking an experienced General Manager for our Alfreton depot. Join us and play a pivotal role in driving the success of our operations!

Your Role:

As the General Manager, you will be at the heart of our transport and warehouse operations, ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient management of all site activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure seamless operations.

  • Procurement Collaboration: Work closely with procurement managers and customers on product selection and supply strategies.

  • Logistics Oversight: Plan and supervise both incoming and outgoing deliveries to meet customer expectations.

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee logistics, warehouse, and transport services, ensuring operational excellence.

  • Financial Planning: Analyse budgets and manage expenditures to drive cost-efficiency.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce industry laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve complaints and issues within the supply chain.

  • Health & Safety: Maintain high standards of health and safety across the site and workforce.

 

What You Bring:

  • CPC National/International: Essential for managing transport operations.

  • Proven Experience: Significant experience in logistics and supply chain management.

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in logistics and inventory management software.

  • Cold Store Expertise: Experience in warehouse management, particularly in a cold store/fridge environment.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical abilities and organizational skills.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Manufacturing Insight: A deep understanding of manufacturing processes.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and commitment to quality.

  • Safety Champion: A dedicated advocate for health and safety culture on site.
